As a part-time instructor with a day job, my flight instruction goals are to develop my own proficiency, participate in extensive cross-country flying, and to provide public services such as Angel Flight. I'm therefore willing to be
flexible on charges and minimum certificate level in situations that provide public benefit and/or increase my proficiency in go-fast, turbine, or
twin-engine
aircraft.
Examples:
- Angel Flight: I am often available to perform second pilot and passenger duties on
Angel Flight South Central and
Angel Flight of Oklahoma flights.
In order to assure the best ride for the patient, I typically insist that we fly together
prior to the Angel Flight Mission. This allows me to learn your aircraft systems and allows
us to develop a productive CRM rapport. Should your medical or certificate limit your ability
to act as PIC, we'll need to do a bit of extra training together.
I do not charge for Angel Flight missions or the preparatory flying.
- Cool places: If you are taking a cross-country to an interesting place, I may be willing to join you at little to no charge once I've done some day-VFR flying with you.
- Cool aircraft: I'm available for ongoing proficiency flying. If I could participate in your course (examples below), I'd be available at a deeply discounted rate to give instruction and act as safety pilot during your initial operating experience. This can have great benefits in terms of insurance, aircraft utility, and pilot confidence.
- Cirrus SR2x, Cirrus Proficient & UND Training.
- Fast Beechcraft (Bonanza, Baron), Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program,
- Turbo or G1000 Mooney, MAPA Safety Foundation Pilot Proficiency Program.
I co-own a 1981 M20J and enjoyed the 2006 PPP in Peoria IL.
- Cessna/Columbia 300-400+.
- Lancair Experimental Aircraft, High Performance Aircraft Training.
- Glasair I, II, & III Experimental Aircraft,
Phoenix Composites.
- Multi-engine: particular interest in
Baron,
C310,
TwinCo, and
Diamond Twin Star.
For multi-engine stick time and familiarization,
I may be willing to cover part of the operating expenses.
